Security Update 2012-001 v1.1 (Snow Leopard)
Rolling the security changes in Mac OS X 10.7.3 Lion back into 10.6 Snow Leopard, Apple has released Security Update 2012-001 and Security Update 2012-001 Server, both exclusively for Snow Leopard. The fixes relate to vulnerabilities in Apache, ATS, ColorSync, CoreAudio, CoreMedia, CoreText, curl, dovecot, filecmds, ImageIO, libresolv, libsecurity, OpenGL, PHP, QuickTime, SquirrelMail, Subversion, Tomcat, and X11. Plus, Mac OS X will no longer trust SSL/TLS certificates issued by DigiCert Malaysia, which has issued certificates with weak keys that it cannot revoke. The 1.0 versions of these
releases caused crashes with PowerPC-based programs running under Rosetta; the 1.1 releases resolved those problems. (Free, 192.73 MB/212.09 MB for Snow Leopard/Snow Leopard Server)
After I updated my automater application for get mail no longer worked. I had to rebuild it in automator. Also, apple script no longer works. I am still not sure what has happened with it yet.
Don't install this update if you ever use any Rosetta/PPC applications. It causes them to crash or refuse to save or print documents.
Is there a work-around for folks who have already installed the update unaware of this problem? I can no longer save files in Word-X, which I rely upon nearly every day. This is completely outrageous. Are folks complaining to Apple about this?
Quicken 2007 (a rosetta app) is definitely DOA. It opens (there seems to be some quirkiness with the cursor), and when you try to quit, it crashes.
Are there any files we can take from an un-updated 10.6.8 system to recover Rosetta functionality?
There is a fix if you have already installed the update. It is a Rosetta fix program and it fixed my problems. The link is
the link is what??
Yes, if you installed 1.0, just install 1.1 on top of it and all will be well. There is no longer any need for the RosettaFix app.

The v1.1 update to the Security Update should resolve the problem.
Thanks!
