Option-click to Hide Apps Quickly

This trick has been available in the Mac OS for years, but many people still don't know it. If you have too many windows cluttering up your screen, you can hide specific ones easily as you work. When you're in any application, hold down the Option key and click on another app's window, on the Dock, or in the Finder to switch to that other app and simultaneously hide all the windows in the previously current app.

If you’d like to win one of three 12-ounce bags of Tonx’s latest roast (a $19 value), enter at the DealBITS page before 4 November 2013.

Tonx takes coffee seriously. They don’t just ship the best beans, they write articles about coffee in their new newsletter, The Frequency, they offer tips for brewing the best coffee, and — little secret — they offer subscribers discounts on brewing equipment.

If you want to take your morning cup to the next level, a Tonx subscription is a no-brainer. The service is simple and beautifully designed — easy to subscribe, easy to cancel. With Tonx, you’re just a few clicks away from some of the best coffee you will ever drink.

But don’t take my word for it, enter to win one of three 12-ounce bags — about two weeks’ supply — and also sign up for a free trial. All information gathered is covered by our comprehensive privacy policy.

﹡If you don’t believe me about the prevalence of coffee fiends among the Apple intelligentsia, ask Marco Arment, Marco Tabini, Shawn Blanc, and Federico Viticci. Those oily little beans fuel much of the Apple-related content you love to read. John Gruber of Daring Fireball even included “have a way of making fussy coffee” in his three keys to Internet success.

Sorry, but $19 is crazy expensive for 12 ounces of coffee. I agree with the premise. I love good coffee and roast my own beans at home. I pay about $7 per pound for some of the best green beans in the world. There's no comparison between freshly roasted coffee and what you can buy in the supermarket, but $25 a pound is pricy.

To be fair Jon, not everyone can or wants to roast their own beans. :-)

Ummm...a 12oz big of coffee beans lasts us about 6 days, so Tonx would cost me at least $95 a month or almost $1200 a year. I could buy a new 21" iMac with that money or 2 32GB iPad Airs.

Sorry thats too rich for my blood.

After Tonx signed on to sponsor TidBITS, I tried the trial version of Tonx, and I enjoyed it. I liked the idea of tasting different coffees, having them delivered to my house so I didn't have to think about it, and the overall friendliness of the Tonx system. I do not live within walking distance of a coffee shop, and I work at home, so I didn't miss going to my local coffee shop when trying Tonx.

I think that a Tonx subscription would make a neat gift for anyone who likes coffee and wants to explore beyond Breakfast Blend and French Roast, especially if they don't have a coffee shop that they already like to visit to get fresh-ground, well-made coffee.

The price is premium, but so is the coffee and the service. It includes shipping etc. I would have no issue with the price. It's a speciality service.
