Safari 6.1
If you’re not ready to upgrade to OS X 10.9 Mavericks from 10.7.5 Lion or 10.8.5 Mountain Lion, you can get many of the features found in Safari 7.0 for Mavericks with the release of Safari 6.1. The update adds the new Shared Links and Sidebar features of Safari 7.0, as well as one-click bookmarking, Safari Power Saver (which can pause plug-in content when it’s in the background), third-party data blocking, and updated security patches. It’s available exclusively via Software Update. (Free)
Crashed until I uninstalled GLIMS
I have a lot of bookmarks in folders, so when viewing bookmarks I can select some within a folder and double click them to open just some of the many bookmarks that I have in a folder.
That's no longer possible.
And to delete one from the side bar it seems I have to ctl-click and use a drop down.
MAJOR setback in functionality.
Safari 6.1 seems to be very slow, and since I installed it I have experienced two "kernel panics" -- the only times that I have ever had this problem.
Yesterday I was unable to log into my online banking site. The bank told me that they are "experiencing problems with Safari right now".
Did I say two "kernel panics"? Make that three now.
Is there an easy way to downgrade to the previous version of Safari? If not, I may need to switch to Firefox.
