Postbox has released version 3.0.10 of its eponymous email client, with support for Retina displays. The update also automatically resizes images to fit the message pane window, adds the capability to whitelist an entire domain to load remote images, fixes a slowdown issue with Yahoo IMAP servers, fixes an issue that prevented some preferences from being saved, stops Address Book notes from overflowing, and improves French, Italian, and German localizations. Create Rules Based on Entourage Messages
When creating rules in Entourage 2008, you can save some time by selecting a message like those you want the rule to work on before defining the rule. That way, when you add criteria to your rule, Entourage fills in the data based on the data in the selected message. So if you wanted to filter messages containing TidBITS, you could select an issue and add a new "From Contains" criterion to a rule. Entourage will automatically fill in the email@example.com address in the criterion.

Postbox looks promising, maybe even very promising, but for one glaring detail: no iOS support. Am I missing something?
I've been forwarding my (too many) email addresses to a gmail catchall, then filtering these by content, subject, addressee, etc., into various tags for gmail, Mailplane, and gmail's iOS app.
I'd used Eudora since the late '80s (until Rosetta died) as an historic database. It was terrific. Licenses, invoices, negotiations, etc., were easily stored and found. AND annotated.
I could also send mail from any of my email addresses without going through all the crap gmail forces me to do.
I followed Adam's path to gmail, but for reasons above, and the terribly slow appearance of POPped mail, I gotta go.
But without an iOS version, I might not be able to use Postbox.
Any thoughts from those who might know?
Why not point Postbox at Gmail from the Mac, and use the Gmail app on iOS?
I know I've got to move to IMAP. Promise, I will. I'm a slow adopter; mistrust of clouds, etc. Burned several times by mobile me.
But POP is not the only source of my problems with gmail.
If I were to switch to Postbox, I'd cut the cord with gmail and use IMAP directly with my mail server and suffer with webmail on the iOS devices.
I know, I know. I want everything my way. Sorry.
