StuffIt Deluxe 16

by Agen G. N. Schmitz

Smith Micro has released StuffIt Deluxe 16 for Mac [1], a major new release of the long-standing compression and archiving utility. The StuffIt Destinations feature gets a couple of new additions, including the capability to add custom tiles to the StuffIt Destinations toolbar and integration with several popular cloud services, including Dropbox, Google Drive, Microsoft OneDrive, and Smith Micro’s own SendStuffNow. (StuffIt Deluxe 16 comes with a free six-month subscription to the SendStuffNow online storage service.) The StuffIt Archive Manager receives a new QuickLook search feature, and its streamlined navigation should make opening, expanding, creating, and scheduling archive creation go more smoothly. StuffIt Deluxe 16 now requires OS X 10.8 Mountain Lion or later. The separately available StuffIt Expander 16 remains free for those who need only to expand a host of formats including StuffIt archives, encrypted Zip archives, and more. ($49.99 new, $29.99 upgrade, 10.8+)
