FCC Chairman Pai Seeks to Reverse Net Neutrality Rules
FCC Chairman Ajit Pai has released a 58-page plan that would roll back Obama-era net neutrality rules, most notably one that classifies ISPs as common carriers. His proposal will face an initial vote on 18 May 2017, and the FCC is taking comments until then. Last time the FCC sought public comment on net neutrality, it was flooded with 3.7 million submissions in favor of requiring broadband providers to treat all traffic equally, rather than selling preferential “fast lane” access to the highest bidders. Any bets on how many comments the FCC gets this time?
They will ignore all comments that do not agree 100% with the party line, as anyone who disagrees is a "paid protestor:" or "Unamerican Democrat". Trump has an approval rating of 100% among "real" Americans, don't you know?
It seems like it will be a destructive, depressing, and dangerous four years for us and the Earth. Donald and company want to take away net neutrality, as well as to shift tax money away from important organizations, negate safeguards, discriminate based on wealth, gender and sexual identity...as well as with many other disturbing actions...to further enrich corporations, the ultra rich, and the upper white class. I hope everyone who didn't vote has learned a valuable lesson.
