Nothing will change for my email correspondents (well, OK, I might be a bit less responsive for the next few weeks). However, this note is directed at those of you who work for companies that like to swamp my snailbox with press releases and other goodies. It's not that I don't trust the United States Postal Service to forward my mail (well, OK, I intend to bribe the mail carrier with some apricot jam I made last summer), but it's always best if everyone updates their databases as soon as possible. In Snow Leopard, Option-click the Battery icon in the menu bar to show the battery's current condition - Normal is good. Other messages might read Replace Soon, Replace Now, Check Battery, or Service Battery. Choosing the message opens a Mac Help document with more information.
