Intel to Acquire Dayna Communications

Intel Corporation announced an agreement to acquire Dayna Communications, Inc., the Salt Lake City company that has produced popular networking and storage peripherals (remember the DaynaFile that read 5.25" DOS disks?) for Macintosh and Windows computers for over a decade. Dayna’s product line focuses on the needs of small business and educational sites and will become a key part of Intel’s strategy for the small business networking market. Regarding the future of Dayna’s Macintosh products, Jeanne Talbot, Intel’s Press Relations Manager, said, "Dayna will continue to sell its products under the Dayna brand, including the Apple products. Intel, together with the Dayna team, will be evaluating the entire product line to determine the best mix of products for all our networking customers, including those who use Apple products. These new products will be introduced under the Intel brand in the first half of 1998."
