Export Word 2008's Audio Notes to Your iPod

You can use Word 2008's Notebook Layout View to take notes and record audio for lectures. Choose View > Notebook Layout View. Click the Audio icon in the Notebook Layout toolbar and then adjust the input volume and click the round recording button. Any notes you type while recording audio are coordinated with the audio. Palm Desktop 4.0 Released -- Palm, Inc. today made Palm Desktop 4.0 for Macintosh available as a free download. The new version adds Mac OS X compatibility, support for records marked private, and the capability to import and export vCard and vCal files. (As a quick example of vCard use, you can drag a contact's title bar icon directly to the Contacts folder of a mounted iPod to add it to the rudimentary address book feature added in last week's iPod 1.1 software update.) Palm Desktop 4.0 is a 10 MB download.
