Readability Service Aids Readers and Publishers — Readability has added a subscription service akin to Instapaper, letting you convert Web pages to stripped-down versions and archive those for later reading from a Web account. Glenn Fleishman writes at The Economist about how this service for readers will also benefit publishers.

Lex Friedman’s Backup Plan — Over at Macworld, Lex Friedman details his backup strategy for keeping his Mac’s data secure, and the paranoia that motivates his approach. The short version: Time Machine, plus a bootable clone via SuperDuper, plus offsite backup with CrashPlan, plus Dropbox, plus Google Docs. And did we mention the heavy helping of data-loss paranoia?
