Evernote 6.3
Evernote has released version 6.3 of its eponymous information management app with a change to using the Command-Delete keyboard shortcut to delete notes to help prevent unwanted note deletion (bringing equivalency with the Finder keyboard shortcut for deleting files). The update also improves visual and stability performance in OS X 10.11 El Capitan, fixes an issue where font information was lost when copying from Evernote, improves tag auto-complete menu performance, and fixes an issue where URLs for Web-clipped notes wouldn’t appear. I don't know if it is just me, but I find Evernote has a lot of irritating characteristics. Just to mention a few:
1. When you are in a note, the Home and End keys do not do anything.
2. Why, when you have clicked on Notebooks in the left column, do you have to double-click on one of the notebooks in the second column to see what notes there are in it. Surely a single click would be enough.
3. If I copy part of a web page and paste it into a note, the images often come out exaggerated. For Facebook comments, the profile picture for each person comes out the right width, but about 20 times as high as it should be.
4. Stuff pasted in is very hard to edit. There seems no way to make it match the existing style. There is no way to remove all style from a section of text - it is the whole note or none.
5. Why do you have to print out a whole note when often all you want is a small part of it? I do not really want to have to make each snippet a separate note. Surely it would be possible to select and area then print just the selected area?
These are just basic usability features which I suspect many people would value. Do the Evernote developers ever use their own product?
