Default Folder X 5.0

St. Clair Software has issued a major update to its Open and Save dialog enhancement utility with the release of Default Folder X 5.0. In addition to bringing full compatibility with OS X 10.11 El Capitan (and erasing the previous version’s requirement to turn off System Integrity Protection), Default Folder X 5.0 adds support for tabbed Finder windows in its Finder-click feature, enables you to apply default folders by file extension as well as by application, tracks recent files as well as recent folders, adds configurable keyboard shortcuts, and brings a new drag-and-drop sidebar for quick access to files and folders. If you purchased Default Folder X on or after 1 June 2015,
you qualify for a free upgrade and your current registration code is all you need to activate Default Folder X 5.0. For those with a Default Folder X license purchased before 1 June 2015, you can upgrade to version 5.0 for $14.95. ($34.95 new, $14.95 upgrade, TidBITS members save $10 on new copies and $5 on upgrades, 10.6 MB, release notes, 10.10+)
