SpamSieve 2.9.17

Michael Tsai of C-Command Software has released SpamSieve 2.9.16, which adds support for Apple Mail in OS X 10.10 Yosemite. (If you’ve already updated to Yosemite or don’t see the SpamSieve commands in Apple Mail’s Message menu, be sure to choose Install Apple Mail Plug-In from the SpamSieve menu.) The spam filtering utility also improves the crash reporter’s error reporting, fixes a bug where SpamSieve could crash if there was an error writing to its log file, and adds several updates to the user manual. Plus, it works around a change in OS X that could cause the “Quit when mail client quits” option to fail in the Japanese localization. (C-Command Software has a call out for
help in keeping SpamSieve’s Japanese localization up to date.) ($30 new with a 20 percent discount for TidBITS members, free update, 14.1 MB, release notes, 10.6+)
