iOS 7.1.2 Improves iBeacon
Apple has released iOS 7.1.2, which you can download via Settings > General > Software Update or install via iTunes. The 23.1 MB download (1.4 GB if downloaded via iTunes), improves iBeacon “connectivity and stability,” fixes data transfer for some third-party accessories (like bar code scanners), and corrects issues with the data protection of Mail attachments.
iOS 7.1.2 includes a number of security improvements, including an update to the certificate trust policy, a fix for an issue that could cause the device to restart unexpectedly, corrections for Activation Lock bypasses, and solutions to a number of issues that could allow arbitrary code execution.
Apple also updated the second- and third-generation Apple TV to version 6.1.2, with its own set of security updates to prevent insufficiently authorized iTunes Store purchases, unexpected restarts, memory being disclosed to an attacker, and the ubiquitous arbitrary code execution.
How about a fix for iMessage?
How can iMessage display "Delivered" when the recipient never got the message, neither as an iMessage nor as a text message?
How many iOS 7 updates have there now been? IMHO Apple has had more than enough time to fix it. The fact that they still haven't got it to work reliably indicates to me they just aren't taking the matter serious. I'm deactivating iMessage for good.
Unfortunately, "Delivered" has always meant the message was delivered to the iMessage server, NOT that it was delivered to the end user.
If I send an iMessage to a friend whose phone is off or out of range, their message will always be "Delivered."
Bluetooth is "ON."
My bluetooth is always on "off." Why is it always automatically turned to "on" after every Apple IOS update for versions 6 and 7?
I have asked this question before but never received a response. How many other settings are they changing that I am unaware?
The first manifestation of the problem is the day after an update. My battery drains much more quickly. I check Preferences and there it is again: bluetooth is turned on after the IOS update.
Any insight is appreciated.
