VLC Media Player 3.0.10

VideoLAN has updated its open-source VLC media player to version 3.0.10 with improved macOS 10.15 Catalina support and fixes for video rendering in macOS. The release now uses a layer-based video output in 10.14 Mojave and later to resolve a size-related glitch and work around OpenGL issues with Macs that have a dedicated Nvidia GPU. VLC 3.0.10 also fixes Apple Remote support in Catalina, adds support for pausing Apple Music, fixes a UPnP discovery crash without an active network interface, and resolves an issue with audio output remembering the last device configuration in digital mode. (Free, 49.4 MB, release notes, macOS 10.7+)

  1. There have been problems finding Apple’s DVD player in Catalina. Even when you find it, using it may be problematical. I have found VLC Media Player 3.0.10 invaluable in getting around these problems and laying DVD’s on my iMac.
