DEVONtechnologies has updated DEVONthink to version 3.5 (jumping from version 3.0.4), a major release for the information management app that boasts a lengthy list of new features and improvements, including an enhanced sidebar, new automation options, and more. The Navigate sidebar now sports an active database section that provides an isolated view of one database’s content at a time (it requires disabling Unify Databases in Preferences). You can also switch databases or access favorites with new menu commands and keyboard shortcuts, and select multiple groups in the sidebar to view or manipulate them together.
DEVONthink 3.5 also now enables smart rules to be triggered by multiple event triggers; adds smart rule actions for converting hashtags, keywords, properties, and geolocation to tags; adds syntax coloring to Markdown documents containing code; enables you to check a document’s character count in the editing bar; gains an improved decluttering service for capturing clutter-free Web pages; improves voice note recording with a more compatible format; improves attribute preservation of PDF annotations; and improves RSS feed handling. The DEVONthink Pro edition gains an updated OCR engine for faster processing of very large PDFs, improves Dark Mode support of rich text fields in form views of sheets, and updates the Web interface for easier file uploading. DEVONtechnologies provides more details, and you can read the full release notes in the app’s Help menu.
