Dropbox 2.6.2

Dropbox has updated its eponymous file synchronization app to version 2.6.2, which appears to be a small maintenance release for Mac users. Dropbox 2.6.2 fixes Growl notifications for those running Mac OS X 10.6 Snow Leopard, as well as prevents you from getting unlinked should you downgrade to version 2.6 from any future builds. Additionally, the Selective Sync user interface is reportedly more responsive.

If you haven’t checked what version of Dropbox is running for some time, it’s worth taking a moment to see if the auto-update feature is working as it should. To check what version of Dropbox you’re currently running, mouse over the Dropbox icon in your menu bar to see the version number in a tooltip. While it can sometimes take several days for auto-updates to apply, you can always choose the manual download if you’re itching to update or find, as we often do, that you’re running an older version.
