GraphicConverter 7.1
Lemkesoft has updated its one-stop image conversion shop GraphicConverter to version 7.1. New this time around is an option to scale images to iTunes Cover size, support for importing .srw files, a digital lightroom mode, and a 100-percent preview mode in the browser. Also introduced is a variety of options for manipulating slideshows. Additionally, the new version adds support for PDF exporting with alpha channel and updates the raw image converter. Localizations for German, Danish, Japanese, and Portuguese are all updated, too. Nearly a dozen bug fixes round out the update; full release
notes are available at Lemkesoft’s site. ($39.95 new, $25.95 upgrade, free update, 100 MB)
The site you give says that upgrades to v. 7 are not free, but $25.95 -- do you have another URL?
Sorry, I've updated the article to be more complete. The cost of a new version is $39.95. The cost of an _upgrade_ from version 6.x or earlier is $25.95, and that's what we left out. The cost of an _update_ from version 7.x is free.
We try hard to distinguish between upgrades, which are not free and are associated with major version changes, and updates, which are usually free, and come within a major version.
The problem is that upgrades stick around forever - you can almost always upgrade from an ancient version of a program to the latest - but after some point in time, there's no reason to list that out since everyone who's paying attention will already have the last major version and will be interested only in the update. In this case, GraphicConverter 7 is recent enough that it's worth keeping the upgrade details in there.
Version 5.9 still works fine for what I need to do, Why upgrade if it ain't broken???
Thanks, Adam, for your prompt and complete reply!
