iTunes 11.0.2
Apple has released iTunes 11.0.2, bringing back the Composers view after it had been left out of the initial release of iTunes 11, frustrating classical music aficionados in particular. However, the Composers view doesn’t automatically appear amongst the view option buttons when the Music library is displayed. To add it, go to the General pane of the iTunes Preferences window and select Show Composers. The Composers view button then appears between Artists and Genres.
iTunes 11.0.2 also promises to improve responsiveness when syncing playlists with a large number of songs, and it fixes a bug that prevented purchases from showing up in your iTunes library. It’s available as a direct download from Apple’s iTunes Web page (188 MB), via Software Update
on systems prior to OS X 10.8 Mountain Lion (194.7 MB), or via the Mac App Store on Mountain Lion (54.2 MB).
I had been hoping that an iTunes update would fix the infinite "Matching your music with songs in the iTunes Store" bug. No such luck. Apple's gotta be aware of that one. It's all over their forums. I sure wish I'd stayed with iTunes 10.x.x.
11.0.2 brought back a feature that got lost in 11: playing a newly entered web radio shows its bitrate again, instead of 'Unknown'
I was hoping it would bring back coverflow view :(
It also fixed a bug that made downloading podcasts basically manual. As soon as I updated they started downloading on their own.
Unfortunately still much worse than version 10. E. g. the miniplayer still does not work as expected. It's a shame.
Thank you; I had not noticed the point you made.
ITunes 11.02 doesn't properly print playlists. The song titles overprint on each other. 11.01 did not have this problem.
Same problem... itunes 11.0.2 prints song titles over each otherfor cd jewel case ....11.0.1 did not have this problem. Is anything being done about this?
How are we meant to know if Apple’s fixing it 8-) Make sure they know it's a prob: http://www.apple.com/feedback/itunesapp.html
Or, if you have a developer account, it's even better to file bugs at https://bugreport.apple.com/
It is amazing that a previous known bug that has already been rectified gets through into a update. Very poor quality control and terrible service that it does not immediately get fixed.
I downloaded latest Itunes update last week...jewel case Printing is unreadable/small/jumbled..and a real mess! What happened! What do we do...pray for another update?
Do the latest hardware device (iPad 4?/ and 128GB iPad, iPhone 5) require iTunes 11?
No, if you're still using iTunes 10.7, it should keep working for now. That won't be true forever, though.
Same CD booklet printing problem for me (overwriting of song lists...a mess). This problem occured in iTunes 11.0; fixed in 11.0.1. Now the problem returns in 11.0.2! Good gawd! How does this happen? And how soon will 11.0.3 come out to re-fix this?
Same problem here, cd jewel case track lists print on top of each other. Just got it fixed...now it's back!! UGH :(
After this is fixed hopefully soon I will never download another new iTunes. These people are either stupid or ignorant. If we pulled stuff like this at our job we'd be fired.
Ruining the iTunes experience - it has gone downhill lately. Have all the best people gone to Samsung?
11.0.2 print problem like everybody else!!!
I think the problem is in the program. It also occurred in a version released last December. It shouldn't have re-occured! I'm sure it will be fixed.
