Quicken 2015 for Mac 2.5
Intuit has released version 2.5 of Quicken 2015 for Mac with changes to investment reporting on the Calendar and improved Download/Financial Institution settings on the Account settings sheet. The Account settings sheet now has an option for showing the total percent day change (gain or loss) for the investing accounts included in a Calendar report. It also eliminates duplicate options, streamlines user flows, and simplifies the functionality of managing the connectivity status for either Direct Connect or Quicken Connect accounts, and enables you to set the date range of transactions to download for Direct Connect accounts. Version 2.5 also addresses a number of bugs, fixing a hang when updating
all accounts, resolving an issue where the sidebar would not remember the account expand/collapse state after restarting, fixing multiple issues related to QIF import from other personal finance applications, dealing with multiple display issues in the Calendar report, and fixing multiple Mobile Sync issues. Note that as of this writing, Quicken 2015 for Mac was still stuck at version 2.4.2 in the Mac App Store. ($74.99 new, free update, release notes, 10.7+)
Every time I try to update Quicken to ANY version, it fails. The download completes, then it says the download is corrupt and the update failed. I have NEVER been able to update Quicken since OS X, circa 10.8 or so (now on 10.10.3)... :(
I'm running Q2007MacLion in both OS X 10.8.5 and 10.10.3 without any apparent problems except what already existed in Lion. I started several years ago, and updated Q2006Mac to Q2007Mac, running it in I think Leopard and then Snow Leopard. They told me it was going to require 2007 to run QBP so I went to Q2007Mac and then Lion-compatible and upgraded to Lion to accommodate it. No problems. Then my main iMac lost a logic board and I bought a new iMac this winter that came with Yosemite 10.10.2. I kept Q2007MacLion running in MountainLion 10.8.5 on a MacBookPro and had no problems. While keeping it on the MBP, I tried it in 10.10.2 and 10.10.3 on the new iMac and it behaved normally. What have you tried as far as updating Quicken?
When I launch, I get a dialog saying there is an update. I click the Update (or OK?) button. It downloads, then _always_ says the update is corrupted and the update failed. Every. Single. Time. for the past year... :(
I am on an iMac running 10.10.3, but this has happened since OS 10.9.x too.
Still waiting for being able to pay bills from within the software. Until then, it's a non-starter for me.
I have now been told by two different Quicken/Mac tech support agents by telephone that Quicken 2015 for Mac will definitely have the addition of QuickenBillPay in an upcoming update. This is after detailed questioning about this addition. I've been talking to them for over 2 weeks about a current problem with Q2007MacLion concerning OnlinePayees crashing the software. It's not resolved yet, but I did acquire this other information about 2015. The agent today suggested a 2-month window, but they have not officially been told when it will appear. I posted this on the Quicken Community Forum a week or so ago. I hope they're right, as I won't buy it without QBP. BTW, I'm running Q2007MacLion in both OS X 10.8.5 and 10.10.3 without any apparent problems except what already existed in Lion.
That's good news, thanks. I'll keep a lookout for the addition of QBP.
I had bought installed and upgraded to this from Quicken 2007. I have it about 4 months but it was SO buggy and in the end it corrupted all my accounts. I went back to 2007 and spent a couple days updating it with the previous 4 months of data. I just can't trust it now.
I ran the latest Quicken 2015 update and it gave me a big scare. My data dating back to 1992 had all disappeared. I found it in the trash and after dragging it back everything seemed okay. But I now wonder if this program is stable.
