Microsoft has released Skype 6.19, which adds support for using VoiceOver to select recent searches from the Add Contacts search field. The update also fixes several reported crashes that occurred when sending and receiving files, fixes a crash that occurred when waking from sleep, and ensures that older Mac desktop machines successfully return search results when searching for messages. only Skype_184.108.40.2064.dmg, where's the ".19"?
The same thing happened to me … but then I saw (on the Skype webpage) that Mavericks is required to run Skype 6.19. I'm running Mountain Lion 10.8.5.
Wonder if this has anything to do with Skype refusing to log me in using v5.8. Would they really require paying users to update software in order to use the service? Frustrating. Probably so they can get the NSA enhancements installed on my mac.
[Update] I downgraded to a version 2.x Skype, used it for about a week and now I'm required to change to v 6.something in order to use Skype at all. No notification of the change, and I'm a long time paying customer. Sad, really sad.
