Appeals Court Overturns Injunction Against Microsoft
On Tuesday, the U.S. Court of Appeals overturned the preliminary injunction preventing Microsoft from requiring computer manufacturers from bundling Internet Explorer with Windows 95 (see "Microsoft Temporarily Barred from Requiring IE"). The appeals court found that the lower court had erred both procedurally and substantively in imposing the injunction. Although a victory for Microsoft, this ruling is separate from the broad antitrust case slated for trial on 08-Sep-98 (see "Antitrust Lawsuits Filed Against Microsoft").
