AOL 5.0 for Mac Available to AOL Users

America Online has made the latest version of its Mac client software, AOL 5.0, available to current AOL users (keyword: “Upgrade”), with a general release expected soon. AOL 5.0 includes a new calendar feature, the ability to retrieve messages you’ve accidentally deleted within the last 24 hours, use Apple’s text-to-speech feature to read messages aloud, and more. However, the new client will include a customized version of Internet Explorer 4.0 as its Web browser, not the more recent IE 4.5 or 5.0.
