…Then Judges Press Napster’s Play Button
Two judges in the Ninth Circuit Count of Appeals today issued a temporary stay that enables the online music swapping service Napster to keep operating. Earlier this week, U.S. District Judge Marylin Patel issued a preliminary injunction in response to a lawsuit by the Recording Industry Association of America and A&M Records that effectively would have required Napster to cease operations. This temporary repreive doesn’t make the RIAA’s lawsuit go away, nor does it alter the undoubtedly long trial process Napster faces.
