Skype 5.0 Beta Slips Backwards in Interface

We don’t normally review beta software at TidBITS because it’s unfair to examine software before it’s fully baked. We’re making an exception for Skype 5.0 for Mac OS X, currently in testing, because we hope that enough voices complaining about poor user interface changes might result in improvements before the final version ships.

The design changes appear to try to make the interface more Mac-like, but instead waste space and add clutter.
