In an uncharacteristic move, Apple has announced in a support article that it is working on software to detect and remove the Flashback malware that has infected over 600,000 Macs worldwide. Until then, Apple recommends users of Mac OS X 10.7 Lion and 10.6 Snow Leopard update to the latest version of Java and users of 10.5 Leopard disable Java in their Web browsers.
