Bob Boilen, host of NPR’s All Songs Considered, writes that he has deleted 25,000 songs from his iTunes library, reclaiming 200 GB. Instead, he’ll be relying on iTunes Match. Let’s hope he kept a backup or two, just in case.

I have a friend who tried to do this and he said it was a mess. He said a lot of albums were incomplete. He gave up on the whole thing. Personally, I haven't been tempted to try it. I don't want to have to rely on an Internet connection to listen to my music.

An older fellow probably wouldn't have done this. I don't know his age, but I suspect he is younger and hasn't had his fingers often burned by false promises and technology failures like most of us senior techs.
