Comcast Testing a New Streaming TV Service in Boston
Comcast is testing a new $15-per-month streaming TV service, called Stream TV, but so far it’s available only in the Boston area to Xfinity Internet customers. It will include all the major broadcast channels, as well as HBO and others. The first month is free and there are no contracts required. Comcast says that it will expand the service to all of its areas in 2016. If you’re in the Boston area and have had a chance to try it out, let us know what you think!
I wish they'd test this in Portland, O! I'm a Comcast customer for Internet services only (no cable), and although I live near the center of town, I'm in a valley that broadcast signals reach poorly or not at all. This service sounds like exactly what I want.
I wonder if video streamed via the service will be subject to the 300 GB data cap? ?
They will probably forgo the data cap if they can insert commercials and not lets us skip over them (their on-demand is useless to me because of this)...
