A Close Look at the Titanium Apple Card’s Design
Designer Arun Venkatesan has posted a detailed analysis of the physical Apple Card, examining its metallurgy, “unibody” machining, markings (it bears a new rounded version of Apple’s San Francisco font), and even its uniquely designed chip. Apple fans and observers might debate whether Apple Card is a good service or one that Apple should offer at all, but there’s no denying that the physical card demonstrates the level of design obsession we expect from Jony Ive and Apple. For more details, see “Apple Card: More Than Just a Credit Card” (28 March 2019).
Doesn’t do anything my current cards can’t do… but I want one now.
Just got a replacement card for one of my cards… no more debossed credit card number, the face only shows my name. BUT it has the essential information I need (card #, CVV, expiration date laser printed on it). Twice I have had to turn the card over to get at the data. MANY of the times I try to access much of anything on my apple account, I have to enter the whole weird 12 digit password, so bad design to eliminate this information from the physical card. Not getting one.
