Affinity 3.1

Canva has published Affinity 3.1, a maintenance update with some long-requested improvements to the creative suite (see “Canva’s Affinity Combines Photo, Designer, and Publisher into One Free App,” 31 October 2025). The release adds the Convert to Curves feature in the Vector menu that allows you to turn a pixel selection into a fully editable vector curve, introduces non-destructive Live Tone Blend Groups that provides realistic compositing while avoiding the need for adjustment clipping, adds a new Light mode appearance for the user interface, enables you to edit gradient and hatch swatches directly in the Swatches panel, ensures all Pen Tool General settings are remembered across documents and sessions, allows the addition of a caption to an object (shape, placed image, picture frame, or table), fixes a bug that prevented Pantone Swatches from displaying, and resolves an issue that caused embedded documents appear washed out in some files. (Free with Canva account, 983 MB, release notes, macOS 10.15+)
