Airfoil 5.7.1 and Piezo 1.5.8

Rogue Amoeba released Airfoil 5.7.1 and Piezo 1.5.7 with the company’s updated and newly rebranded Audio Capture Engine (ACE), which replaces the Instant On audio capture component. ACE has been updated to version 9.0 with several small fixes and improvements, and Rogue Amoeba has also made it available for licensing in other Mac apps.

Piezo 1.5.7 also received full VoIP capture support for the Line messaging app and updated its VoIP support for all versions of GoToMeeting (including new versions from LogMeIn). Shortly after 1.5.7’s release, Rogue Amoeba issued version 1.5.8 to fix a critical bug that prevented Piezo from installing ACE. If you’re a TidBITS member, you can purchase Airfoil and Piezo (as well as other Rogue Amoeba apps like Fission and Audio Hijack) at a 20 percent discount. (Airfoil, $29, 13.6 MB, release notes; Piezo, $19, 8.0 MB, release notes; both are free updates and require 10.10+)
