Audio Hijack 4.5.5 and Piezo 1.9.7

Rogue Amoeba has updated Audio Hijack 4.5.4 (full-featured audio recording) and Piezo 1.9.7 (simple audio recording) with full support for macOS 26 Tahoe—Rogue Amoeba recommends macOS 26.1 or higher in the strongest possible terms. The two audio utilities work around a bug in Tahoe that could cause audio to be corrupted and fix a bug related to launch order that could prevent the capture of FaceTime audio. Audio Hijack now supports capturing audio from the new Phone app in Tahoe, ensures choosing a preferred Editor within the Settings window works properly, works around a bug in Tahoe bug that could prevent capture of audio from the AirPlay System Receiver special source, and improves mouse event handling for plugins built with the iPlug2 framework (such as Varimoon, dBcomp and Neural Amp Modeller). A quick update to Audio Hijack 4.5.5 fixes a regression introduced in 4.5.4 that doubled audio captured from voice-over-IP apps and apps manually set to capture all devices. (Audio Hijack, $69, 27 MB, release notes; Piezo, $29, 12.5 MB, release notes; all have a 20% discount for TidBITS members, are free updates, and require macOS 14.4+)
