Bookends 15.1

Sonny Software has released Bookends 15.1 with support for Apple Intelligence (requires macOS 15.2 Sequoia or later). The reference management tool makes Writing Tools available where appropriate throughout the app, and the Compose option can be used on text and even files, including PDFs. (Control-clicking selected text in a PDF will close the annotation popover and provide immediate access to Writing Tools.) The update also adds an Autofill from Clipboard menu option that becomes available when the clipboard contains tagged reference metadata in the format of RIS, BibTeX, PubMed, or Endnote Export; enables you to add or remove external PDF reader app options; provides an alert if you try to copy text from a password-protected PDF in which that is disallowed; fixes a bug where dropping references in the Trash group resulted in a dialog offering to create a group; and resolves an issue where a new smart group was not remembered after a relaunch. ($74.99 new with a 25% discount for TidBITS members, $49.99 upgrade, free update for version 15 users, 118.8 MB, release notes, macOS 10.13+)
