Bookends 15.3

Sonny Software has published Bookends 15.3, updating the reference management tool to require macOS 11 Big Sur or later and to use the Liquid Glass appearance when running on macOS 26 Tahoe. The update improves PDF tagging by collecting Finder tags from each PDF in your default and ad hoc folders, adds two PDF annotation right-click options (Copy Content with Citation and Copy Content with Citation as Link), enables links created in Bookends to be pasted or dragged into Microsoft Word documents, improves the speed of populating the note stream with PDF annotations, addresses a problem in Copy Notecard with Citation as Link where the notecard content was included in the link, fixes a cosmetic issue with floating windows in Dark mode, and restores the ability to filter the note stream to hide annotations without notes. ($74.99 new with a 25% discount for TidBITS members, free update, 127 MB, release notes, macOS 11+)

  1. I’ve used Bookends for years and it is wonderful. Incredibly useful for scholarly research and writing. The company is responsive to support requests both in the online forums and by email. Highly recommended.
