Default Folder X 6.2.8

St. Clair Software has issued Default Folder X 6.2.8 with several handy bug fixes for the Open/Save dialog utility. The release ensures the Finder-click feature correctly works with the recently updated Path Finder 26 (see “Path Finder 26.0,” 10 May 2026) and the Bloom Finder replacement app. The update also works around a bug in macOS 26 Tahoe where file dialogs in column view don’t scroll to the right, addressing some confusion within Default Folder if a file dialog is opened and then dismissed very quickly, resolves an issue with recent items not including files and folders located in OneDrive for Business folders, and eliminates an intermittent crash when building hierarchical menus for folders containing lots of items. Additionally, playable audio and video previews in Open dialogs are disabled by default due to frequent macOS AVPlayer crashes in macOS 26.4 Tahoe and later.
