DEVONthink 4.1

DEVONtechnologies has issued DEVONthink 4.1 (nicknamed Europa) with improvements and bug fixes for all three editions (standard, Pro, and Server), as well as several AI-related feature additions for DEVONthink Pro. All editions add a new script editor for drafting reminders and smart rules, bring a new a Quick Look extension for previewing Spotlight results in macOS 15 Sequoia and later, detect links in Markdown documents at least 25 times faster when syntax coloring and WYSIWYG is enabled, reposition the Ascending and Descending commands at the top of the View > Sort menu for quicker sorting, fix a bug that caused Markdown lists to render improperly when indented with one space, and resolve an issue where remote images in Markdown documents didn’t render in WYSIWYG mode.

DEVONthink Pro adds support for OpenRouter for access to a wider range of server-based AI models; adds native support for Claude 4.1 Opus, Gemini 2.5 Flash Lite, OpenAI GPT-5, Google Imagen 4, and the latest models by Mistral; enhances the Script Editor window with a script assistant that uses a code-compatible AI model to draft a script; updates the Generate Image window to be able to modify a generated image or one dropped or pasted into the window; improves the Chat assistant’s progress indicator to more clearly show chat activity, improves error handling when bulk processing items via chat; and ensures timestamps are properly restored when revisiting the Chat assistant.
