DEVONthink 4.3.1

DEVONtechnologies has issued DEVONthink 4.3.1, a maintenance release that refines the new DEVONthink Markdown parser and updates some image-generation AI models (for DEVONthink Pro users). For DEVONthink Markdown, the update adds support for headerless tables, renders ALT text for image links as captions, supports standard Markdown styling and linking, ensures inline footnotes preserve embedded links, and improves overall reliability. The document and information manager also updates the Finder icons for all DEVONthink document types, fixes a rare bug that caused Bonjour syncs to throw exceptions, and resolves a rendering issue that caused the Help viewer’s toolbar search field to overlap the clear button.

For users with a DEVONthink Pro license, the new version updates Claude Opus to version 4.8, retains the original image size when editing images with Flux Pro or Max, ensures Nano Banana 2 uses the commonly available version gemini-3.1-flash-image model, updates the Recraft image-generation model, improves reliability of MCP tools, improves the Apple Speech Analyzer to transcribe audio and video more reliably when an invalid language is specified via MCP or AppleScript, and resolves a rare issue where Web searching with AI could cause a crash in the Chat assistant. ($99 new for DEVONthink, $199 for DEVONthink Pro, and $499 for DEVONthink Server with a 15% discount for TidBITS members; upgrades available; release notes; 90.5 MB; macOS 13+)
