Fantastical 4.0.16 and Cardhop 2.3.7
Flexibits has released Fantastical 4.0.16, allowing ignored invitations to sync across devices. The calendar app adds support for custom weekly repeating tasks with Todoist, updates invitee auto-complete to prioritize contacts that you have previously invited, improves the reliability of initial syncs for Microsoft 365 accounts, fixes the process of setting an event to repeat on the last day of the month, resolves an issue with adding Google Meet calls to a single event in a repeating series, fixes a bug where deleting certain recurring Google events would fail for some users, and ensures Apple’s Contacts correctly show up in auto-complete suggestions.
The bundled contacts app Cardhop 2.3.7 adds an Add Note to Contact intent for use in Shortcuts, resolves an issue where adding an address to a contact via the parser could add the address multiple times, and fixes a bug that caused notes to scroll back to the top improperly. ($56.99 annual subscription includes both from Flexibits and the Mac App Store, free updates, 67.1/30.4 MB, Fantastical release notes/Cardhop release notes, macOS 12+)
I’ve been using Fantastical since version 1.0 and it has proven to be quite valuable. However, from my point of view and non-professional usage, it has become very complex and sometimes difficult. Moreover, tech support (apparently email only) is often unresponsive. I am beginning to question it’s value for me . I attempted to install the latest version and ran ito quite a few roadblocks. It is, indeed, to bad that updates cannot be installed as many other applications can by simply seeking “updates” and letting them install. With the newest versionm, I was unsuccessful and gave up.
I’ve been testing BusyCal instead of Fantastical for a while, but I don’t remember there ever being anything more than a normal automatic update mechanism for it.
