Apple’s iTunes has been bumped to version 10.4, receiving no user-level changes but gaining a 64-bit foundation for maximum performance on Mac OS X 10.7 Lion; the update also includes several unspecified performance and stability improvements. Apple notes that, due to the architectural changes entailed by the move to 64-bit, third-party plug-ins may stop working with this version of iTunes; if that happens, contact the individual plug-in developers for help. Is it me, or does iTunes 10.4 break the use of cmd-shift [ and ] to move between parts of the Info window? They now go to the previous/next library items.
I had a big bad effect when I upgraded to 10.4! I couldn't get into the iTunes store after the dounload. After hours of debugging, reinstalling snow leopard from the origional disc, and finally going to the genius bar at the Salem, NH Apple store, a third party plug in was discovered in my root directory. Jax from proSoft software was sitting where i installed it, (and never really used), We trashed it and all was well. Those Apple geniuses lived up to their name again!
