Lightroom Classic 14.1

Adobe has issued Lightroom Classic 14.1 with feature enhancements, bug fixes, and newly added cameras and lenses. Apple recently crowned Lightroom the Mac App of the Year, but confusingly, that was for the cloud-based Adobe Lightroom, which has more limited features and is available for desktop and mobile use via the Mac App Store and Adobe’s Creative Cloud subscription. The desktop-focused Lightroom Classic has a more comprehensive set of features and organization tools, does not include cloud file backup, and is only available via Creative Cloud.

Version 14.1 of Lightroom Classic now enables you to customize the blur effect in a photo with an Oval bokeh (available in Lens Blur and Adaptive presets), adds new presets to the Blur Background, allows you to discard Standard and 1:1 previews for better disk space management, adds the seventh-generation Apple iPad mini to its list of supported cameras and lenses, resolves an issue where the wrong photo is selected when creating a virtual copy in the Develop module, fixes a bug that caused the previously edited image in the Crop tool, and ensures the Export window correctly remembers the previous setting for JPEG XL Bit Depth. ($9.99/$19.99/$59.99 monthly Creative Cloud subscription, free update for subscribers, release notes, macOS 13.1+)
