Mimestream has issued version 1.9.6 of its Gmail-specific email app, updating the behavior when sending links to Reminders to set the subject to the reminder’s title. The release updates menus in macOS 26 Tahoe with icons that adopt the new system design, fixes a bug that caused unnecessary Gmail API queries that resulted in 400 responses, resolves a crash that occurred when replying to particular messages with specific text sequences, adds explanations when notifications are disabled, improves error handling during Mimestream account sign-in, and enhances logging around rare Gmail sync issues. Version 1.9.7 was subsequently released to address missing localization of some menu items, incorrect icon display in the menu for some toggles (like Mark as Unread), and a crash when exporting to PDF in macOS 12 Monterey and macOS 13 Ventura.
