Path Finder 26.1.4

Cocoatech has released Path Finder 26.1.4 to remove the AirDrop view from the file browser alternative to the macOS Finder. Due to recent changes by Apple, the app is no longer able to support this, though sharing files to AirDrop is still available with the Share menu and toolbar items. The update adds support for editing text-based files in the Preview module (including RTF documents), adds media playback controls in the preview column of the column view, displays the number of Recent Documents / Folders / Applications / Servers as selected in the main menu, prevents unhiding of the Finder Desktop when the Path Finder Desktop is shown, and fixes full-width color labeling in the icons view. ($29.95 anual subscription, in Setapp, 19.3 MB, release notes, macOS 10.13+)

  1. Been using PF in place of the Finder for decades. It worked great up until about six months ago when an update rendered the Favorites side-bar inoperative. Thankfully, the latest version, 26.1.4 has fixed the Favorites bug, and the app seems to be woking fine now. I still prefer it to the Finder.
