Pixelmator Pro 3.7

In its first feature update since being acquired by Apple late last year (see “Apple Acquires Pixelmator, Speculation Begins,” 1 November 2024), Pixelmator Pro 3.7 adds support for Apple Intelligence to the image editing app. You can now use Image Playground to create original images based on a photo, a description, or people from your Photos library, as well as recreate image layers or drawings in artistic styles. With Writing Tools support, you can proofread, summarize, rewrite, and modify the tone of any text in your designs, as well as create new, original text using ChatGPT. The release also adds support for opening and editing RAW images from OM SYSTEM OM-1 Mark II cameras (taken using High Res Shot), improves VoiceOver support to provide spoken and braille descriptions of Pixelmator Pro tools, and enables you to hover over items in the Tools sidebar to display their names in large text using Hover Text. ($49.99 new from the Mac App Store, free update, 602.9 MB, release notes, macOS 12+)

  1. I bought PP from PP and was confused by the update. Turns out the AppStore just updated as if I’d purchased PP from the AppStore. I did this several days ago, but I think I had to go to the description of PP, then I got an Update button.
