PopChar X 5.2
Many of us know how to type a few special characters on our Macs, but who among us can claim to know how to type all of them? Thanks to Ergonis’s release of PopChar X 5.2, typing special characters is now a bit easier. New in this edition of PopChar is a font size slider, which makes it easier to adjust the window’s display — whether you’d prefer to see more characters at once, or finer detail for fewer characters. Even better, PopChar X 5.2 includes built-in hints for more than 70 fonts, so the slider is automatically adjusted for optimal display whenever possible. The new version also improves background memory usage, and resolves issues with Sigil, FocusWriter,
TeXworks, and FileMaker Pro. (€29.99 new, free update, 2.3 MB)
Looks like a really neat piece of software. But, at today's exchange rate of nearly $43 I think the price is a bit steep. The money leaves the US too. Think I'll stick to "Show Character Viewer" for now.
Every dollar that leaves the US in trade is an interest-free loan by others into our economy.
That is a bit centric (ethno-?), as « Americans are Alone in the World », which happens to be the title of a book a read while doing my doctorate at Stanford University; It was passed to me by Linus Pauling… It could have been Jobs or Wozniack who were also around at that time.
Amitiés du Québec (in a country somewhere North…)
It's simply true. If you live outside a country and buy a product from that country, the economic transfer of a good results in the concomitant receipt of a form of government debt represented as currency backed by the full faith and credit of the government in question.
OUPS!
I forgot to mention that Apple have always produced machines and software that supported and respected « non-English persons ». I have used them all. And PopChar is also such a product…
