Tinderbox 11.8

Eastgate Systems has issued Tinderbox 11.8 with AI updates for the note-taking assistant. The Tinderbox-AI bridge has been rejiggered to provide better reliability with a broader range of models, and it allows you to provide Resources and Prompts to AI models directly from Tinderbox notes in your Hints folder. The release also improves the attribute browser’s columns to remember their widths, ensures HTML no longer encodes non-ASCII characters and uses a UTF-8 character set by default, improves placement of link arrows in map view to allow them to deviate from strict orthogonality, resolves an export crash in old files that retain Latin-1 note names, fixes two race conditions in Gaudí View, improves drag performance in complex map views in documents with numerous links, and adds fresh protection against control characters embedded in styled text being copied into HTML CDATA. ($289 new with a 25% discount for TidBITS members, free update, 37.6 MB, release notes in Tinderbox Help, macOS 11+)
