No TidBITS Issue on 2 December 2024

This Thursday marks the Thanksgiving holiday here in the United States. To ensure that everyone who helps with TidBITS can spend the coming week with family, friends, and food, we won’t be publishing an email issue of TidBITS on 2 December 2024, so the next one will ship on 9 December 2024.

Even without the weekly email issue next Monday, we’ll continue to work on and publish articles on the TidBITS website, and the exceedingly helpful TidBITS Talk discussions will continue unabated. To keep up, visit our site, subscribe to our RSS feed—remember that TidBITS members get a full-text feed—or follow us on Mastodon or Apple News. Or, feel free to unplug from the online world entirely and appreciate those around you in person.

We hope those who celebrate Thanksgiving have a happy and relaxing holiday. If someone you know is overwhelmed with cooking a full Thanksgiving dinner, remember that Joe Kissell’s Take Control of Thanksgiving Dinner has all the necessary recipes, schedules, instructions, and real-world advice to ensure a successful holiday gathering. I still fondly remember our test Thanksgiving dinner in August of the year when we were working on the book’s first version.

Subscribe today so you don’t miss any TidBITS articles!

Every week you’ll get tech tips, in-depth reviews, and insightful news analysis for discerning Apple users. For over 36 years, we’ve published professional, member-supported tech journalism that makes you smarter.

  1. Have a good Thanksgiving!

  2. Our big event for earlier in the day is the 52nd Ithaca Turkey Trot, which I’m timing (with a completely new system) and for which Tonya is managing check-in and bib pickup. Pre- and post-race activities have to be outside (rather than inside a heated school building) for the first time, so everything will be more challenging, given the prediction of snow and freezing temperatures.
