Photos Search 5.0

Alco Blom has released version 5.0 of Photos Search, which enables you to search for text in images (see “Work with Text in Images with TextSniper and Photos Search,” 23 August 2021). Previously, Photos Search could search only within your Photos Library, but the update now enables you to search for text in a folder of images. Additionally, you can select a Photos Library stored on an external hard disk or a USB drive. You can set your preferred language to most European languages, as well as Chinese, Japanese, Korean, Vietnamese, Thai, Russian, Ukrainian, or Arabic. Purchase of the macOS app also gets you the iOS app for free (requires iOS 13 or later). ($17.99 new, free update, 1.5 MB, macOS 11.5+)
