Wyze Labs has finally come clean about why it discontinued its first-generation security camera, and if you’re still using one, you may want to unplug it.
Wyze Labs has announced that it has discontinued its first-generation WyzeCam and is advising against using it going forward.
Webcams for videoconferencing have become hard to find, so Wyze has released a special firmware version that converts a Wyze Cam v2 or Wyze Cam Pan to a webcam.
The maker of Wyze Cam has introduced an add-on sensor package with contact and motion sensors for the low, low price of $20. Like the Wyze Cam, the Wyze Sense product cuts a few corners but still delivers.
The latest entry in the Wyze Cam line, the Wyze Cam Pan, can cover an entire 360-degree area for an absurdly low price. It’s well worth checking out if you’re looking for an interior security camera, but sadly, it doesn’t support HomeKit.
