Apple added two features to Notes in iOS 15, iPadOS 15, and macOS 12 Monterey to enhance your note-taking. Note tags give you an alternative way to organize your notes, while Quick Note gives you an always-available shortcut for creating notes on your Mac and iPad.

The results are in and wow, do people not use a lot of Apple’s features. In fact, only 4 of 20 features garnered more votes from those who used the feature than those who didn’t. Some of the usage patterns are no surprise—SharePlay, really?—but others caught us off guard.

Do you want content from your iOS notes app to show up on your Apple Watch? You’re out of luck with Apple’s Notes, but Google Keep now has watchOS support. It won’t likely trigger defections from Notes, but iOS users invested in Google’s ecosystem will be happy. Note, though, that other Apple Watch-friendly notes apps exist.
